Nuggets of Wisdom for Both Life and Business

I grew up in the South where nuggets of wisdom were a fact of life.  Here are some ones for life as well as business.  They may be tongue in cheek but each and every one of them is oh so true!

  1. Don’t name a pig you plan to eat.
  2. Life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.
  3. Life is simpler when you plow around the stumps
  4. The trouble with a milk cow is she won’t stay milked.
  5. Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled.
  6. Meanness don’t happen overnight.
  7. Never lay an angry hand on a kid or an animal; it just ain’t helpful.
  8. Forgive your enemies. It messes with their heads.
  9. Don’t sell your mule to buy a plow.
  10. Don’t corner anything meaner than you.
  11. It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.
  12. You can’t unsay a cruel thing.
  13. Every path has some puddles.
  14. The best sermons are lived, not preached.
  15. Happiness comes through doors you didn’t even know you left open.
  16. Most of the stuff people worry about never happens.
  17. Never take criticism from someone you wouldn’t go to for advice.
  18. You’re not going to master the rest of your life in one day.
  19. Nothing is permanent in this world.  Not even our troubles.
  20. Sometimes the nicest people you meet are covered in tattoos and sometimes the most judgmental ones go to church on Sunday.
  21. The Smarter you get, the less you speak.

I’m sure that you could add many, many more “One Second Wisdoms” to the list. Feel free to add yours in the comments.
